Dear Alvina

This post is dedicated to a very special friend of mine :)
Alvina, I hope you'll like this.

Dear Alvina,

This whole year has definitely been one big adventure. We were never really close back in college but who would have known that two years later, you became one of my closest friends. I know there are tons of ups and downs while we are here but I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed the experiences we faced because you were here with me.
I just want to say thank you for everything for the past year because if you weren't there for me, I think I would have gone crazy already.

Thank you for listening to my loony rants and for calling me whenever I messaged you.
Thank you for introducing me some awesome make-up and being my consultant :P
Thank you for accompanying me whenever I am too scared to talk to a lecturer or ask someone for something.
Thank you for accompanying me to Hogwarts during my birthday and thank you for the cake!
Thank you for putting up with me because I know that sometimes I can get quite crazy :)

I will never forget the times where we would go shopping together, our stressful assignment times and how we would always have Subway whenever we go to Cambridge's town centre

All in all, I would never have enjoyed whatever we went through without you.
I'm quite sad that you're going back home so soon :(
Take care and have a safe flight okay?

I'll miss you

I'm feeling a wee bit down so I decided to seek solace in my Harry Potter books. These quotes are like gold to me.

'We must try not to sink beneath our anguish, Harry but battle on'

'Don't count your owls before they are delivered'

'There was no point in worrying yet...what would come, would come...and he would have to meet it when it did.'

Wish me luck in my upcoming exam!

I know this is very random but I get really pissed off when people look down on Arts and Humanities courses.

Seriously, what's your problem? So what if we don't study medicine or law? Does that mean we're not as clever as those who do? Does that mean that you can look down on us and belittle us because we don't conform to social norms?

I can literally feel my blood boil whenever I hear comments about mass communications being an easy course.

'You don't need to study or have much skills.' - someone once told me.

Easy your head. Why don't YOU try it out then?
Have you tried writing 1237681734 different articles? Have you tried designing a magazine cover or a website? Have you tried shooting and editing a video? Have you tried analyzing movies and advertisements?
If you haven't, please do me a HUGE favour and shut your piehole.

I'm so sick of people looking down on us because we're not doctors or nurses, or someone that design houses and buildings. If you think so little of our industry, then don't read the paper. Don't watch TV.

No wait, actually you should!
Because apart from doing things that do not need much skills or studying we can also convince you to believe what we want you to believe or get whatever we want you to buy so that you'll be freaking broke.

Grow up.

Ohmygosh.

I know I was supposed to update last Saturday but I didn't have the mood to do so :(
So, here I am 4 days later - still with no birthday post in hand. However, I've drafted it already so it won't be long before I post it up.

In the meantime, my one and only exam is approaching soon and I have not managed to read everything yet. I have been forcing myself to read at least 2 chapters a day. It has been working well so far, so let's just hope it stays that way :)

If you have been talking to me recently, you would have known that I am currently hooked onto Singaporean dramas. With the rate I am watching, I think my Mandarin will improve tremendously by the time I go back to Malaysia. It all started from The Little Nyonya :/ I'm so hooked :(

Aside from that, if you have been talking to me recently, you would also know that I am currently having a girly crush on Pierre Png. I have been watching some of his dramas - mainly The Little Nyonya, Phua Chu Kang and currently Dear, Dear Son In-Law.

I'm currently in the library. I studied a chapter earlier on and I think I have memorized it quite well. Aaron thought that I wouldn't be able to answer the question regarding the year when Ferdinand De Saussure was born (which wasn't even exactly relevant to my exam questions) but I managed to answer it :}

I'm off to the gym now. Will definitely update about my birthday soon!
